Final Report Part A: Comprehensive Transport Master Plan

Narayanganj, one of Bangladesh’s oldest industrial cities and a vital urban center adjacent to Dhaka, has experienced rapid urbanization and industrial growth in recent decades. This development is
significantly stressing the city's existing transport infrastructure, leading to increased congestion, safety concerns, and environmental degradation.
In response, the Dhaka Transport Co-ordination Authority (DTCA) initiated a Comprehensive Transport Master Plan (CTMP) project with objectives of preparation of comprehensive master, prefeasibility of mass transit system and conceptual development of multimodal hub. The CTMP is outlined as a strategic framework to guide transport development through 2044.
The CTMP proposed a phased implementation approach, structured into: Short-term (up to 2029), Medium-term (2030–2034), and Long-term (2035–2044) programs and plans.
